It is essential to build up our stock of all types of blood to ensure continuity of supply to Irish Hospitals.

The Irish Blood Transfusion Service is urging people in the Ennis area to donate blood at these clinics.

With hospitals still requiring a steady supply of blood every day, the IBTS is asking regular donors and new volunteers to help make up donations.

“Demand from Irish hospitals has not slowed down,” said Alex O’Connor, IBTS Recruitment Executive. “Your donation can help ensure patients continue to get the blood they urgently need. Giving blood takes less than an hour and could mean the world to someone in need.”

Irish hospital’s demand for blood continues to rise month on month. 3,000 blood donations are needed each week just to keep pace.

Every single donation makes a profound difference. Blood is a lifeline for thousands of patients every year – from those undergoing complex surgeries, individuals battling cancer and leukaemia requiring chemotherapy, to mothers experiencing complications during childbirth, and victims of serious accidents. One unit of blood can save or significantly improve the lives of up to three people.
