Clarecastle Community Development / Tidy Towns

In association with the GAA Health & Wellness Team and Clarecastle Scouts, recently hosted a very successful Open Evening to celebrate and promote the role of community, voluntary and sporting organisations in the Village.

24 organisations participated and were joined by the Clare Volunteer Centre who are working with Tidy Towns in developing a volunteer management programme to further strengthen volunteer management capacities in Clarecastle.

Defibrillator

The Clarecastle Men’s Shed has provided a Defibrillator for use in our community. 

Defibrillators have been instrumental in saving many lives worldwide, in cases of cardiac arrest. 

The unit has been erected on a wall adjacent to the entrance to Centra in the village and is accessible at all times.  Training in the use of the Defibrillator for Men’s Shed members and the general public will be provided in the near future.

Safeguarding

All Clerics and Religious are Mandated persons.

The Children First Act 2015 places a legal obligation on them, to report child protection concerns to Tusla – Child and Family Agency.

These mandated persons must also assist Tusla, on request, in its assessment of child protection concerns about children who have been the subject of a mandated report

Irish Community Rapid Response

Irish Community Rapid Response was established in 2008 to deliver professional pre hospital care directly to the site of medical emergencies throughout Ireland. Our volunteer doctors have made a significant difference while working in association with the National Ambulance Service when responding to 999/112 emergency calls.

Building on our experience and success we will provide Ireland’s first dedicated charity funded helicopter emergency medical service (HEMS). Based out of Cork Airport, Irish Community Air Ambulance will provide a vital lifesaving service,

Clarecastle / Ballyea Parish Office

Just to remind all parishioners that the Parish Office in open in Clarecastle, at the back of the Church, on Thursday & Friday each week from 10am – 1pm & 2pm – 4pm.

We have a selection of signed Mass cards, which include sympathy, retirement, special occasion which are available in the office.

Clarecastle & Ballyea Heritage & Wildlife Group

Clarecastle & Ballyea Heritage & Wildlife Group  launches their 2nd book Land & People 2.

The book has something for everyone and is wonderfully illustrated, with rare and previously unpublished photographs of local interest to the Clarecastle & Ballyea areas as well as interesting original reflection on important cultural and historical events, organisations and family history.  

The book is available from the local shops in Clarecastle & Ballyea and Ennis Book shop or any of the Heritage & Wildlife
