This Gallery is a collection of photographs from across the years. We hope it brings back memories and shows the vibrant community that we are today.
Many thanks to John Power, Clarecastle for these fine photographs. On Saturday, 10th January we gathered in the church in Ballyea to give thanks for, and celebrate, Fr Harry Bradys ministry in our parish. It was a very fitting tribute to his inclusive style to see the amount of people who contributed to making this evening such a special event. Community and parish groups were represented throughout the Mass, and the choir was a combined choir from Clarecastle and Ballyea choirs. Afterwards we adjourned to Ballyea Hall where our primary difficulty was to choose from the amazing array of food that had been created mainly by generous parishioners! John Lynch led a fine group of musicians so there was a great atmosphere in the hall with laughter, stories and music until late. Thank you Fr Harry for all you have made possible here in your time as parish priest. May you enjoy the rest of your time here with us now in your new role.

People from across the community have been doing amazing work to take care of our communitys public roads and spaces, so that we really look our best for Today Towns 2015 this June. Many thanks for all those we see in high vis jackets each evening - painting, cutting grass, cleaning, and collecting rubbish. You have made us all aware of how lovely our community is, and how we can all make a difference!

Clarecastle & Ballyea Heritage & Wildlife Group are delighted that after many months of planning, their wildlife and historical signs have just been erected on the quay in Clarecastle . One sign shows the wonderful story of the quay area, with historic photographs and script. The other sign depicts the wildlife that can be seen on the River Fergus and mudflats, with many photographs in colour of the flora and fauna of the area. This project involved collaboration with Clare Co Council. The group are grateful to Tidy Towns for selection of signage location. Come along and have a look!

June 3rd 2015: Thanks to Eric Shaw for photographs. ... The Old School opposite the Church in Clarecastle dates to 1843. Ger Dillon recently mentioned that there had been a plaque on the building but that it had been plastered over for the past 50 years or so. That led us to examine old photographs. In a 1945 photograph, the plaque could be see over the porch of the school. This morning, the Men's Shed team removed the plaster from a section of the porch to reveal a fine cut-stone plaque with wonderful ornate script on it. It read Clare Village National Schools. A great find and it will now be suitably restored. Well done to all concerned.
