The document, written by Dr Joe Power, describes the Cholera Epidemic of 1832. Rev. David O’Brien C. C., died of cholera in the discharge of his clerical duty in June 1832, aged 28 years. In 2015, on the 150th Anniversary of the erection of the memorial to Fr. O’Brien, the Pastoral Council of Clarecastle & Ballyea funded the restoration of the railings and stonework of the grave.
