Clarecastle-Ennis parish pilgrimage to Medjugorje in 2004

Ada’s trip to Medjugorje in 2004

My Aunt, Josie Farrar, who resides in Canada asked if l’d like to go on a pilgrimage to Medjugorje sponsored by her. I was overwhelmed by her generosity but was very apprehensive about going, as I had heard it was not really disability friendly re walkways etc. My friend, Suzette Liddy, who had gone there a few times encouraged me and said I could manage with a wheelchair.

Fr. Miceal Mclnerney was Spiritual Director of the group led by Bridget Hickey and Kathleen Lee. When we got there, I asked for volunteers to push my wheelchair and wonderful “Simon’s and Veronica’s” as I happily called them came to my rescue. You will see them in the photos. I had a lovely photo of Fr. Mclnerney with Chrissie Meaney, but following her death, I gave it to her family.

I believe that, in God’s providence, I was meant to go to Medjugorje as I was able to write about my experiences there in my Memoir “Through the Power of His Love” published in 2005.

As a result of this, many people went to Medjugorie.

I hope YOU will go on pilgrimage there, it’s a blessed-filled and peaceful place

Photographs from the pilgrimage are in the Photo Gallery HERE
